First the product is developed and introduced to the market place. Then is is modified with time as conditions change such as the habits of buyers and technology, finally the product is retired.Look at the clothes pin. When I was a kid we had two kinds. One was a dowel with a slit and the other was the two piece variety with a spring. We hated the dowel type because a good wind would cut them lose from the laundry and blow the laundry off to the neighbor's fence.The other variety was good for making little guns and such. There were no modifications that kept the darning tool alive, at least not in the United States. None of the variations, egg, mushroom, or guard survived. Socks became more durable and we had the money to buy them.The important thing for a person who wants his own products and wants to develop them himself (herself) is to find a need and then find a solution. Well, you can find a need or a want. The ladies opening their muffin or cookie stores are filling a want wow gold. A lawnmower is often a need.The advantage of having your own products and the ability to manufacture them is that you can cut down the competition. You also can control cost and distribution.
